MAG Submitted Two Resolutions

Two resolutions were prepared for AMA consideration at the Annual Meeting. The first, Resolution on Pay-for-Performance, was originally submitted to the AMA in November as a late resolution that did not pass the necessary vote for consideration. The second is on AMA Prioritization of Strategic Objectives, which passed the 2006 MAG House of Delegates and was submitted to the AMA in November. It was not considered at the Interim meeting because it did not meet the AMA criteria for an advocacy item.

MAG Member, Sandra Fryhofer, M.D., Elected to AMA Council on Science and Public Health

The House elected Atlanta internist Sandra Fryhofer, M.D., an active member of the Medical Association of Georgia, who represented the American College of Physicians as a Delegate, to the AMA Council on Science and Public Health. Dr. Fryhofer had the support of the Southeastern Delegation, of which MAG is a member, and the AMA Georgia Delegation. MAG wishes to congratulate Dr. Fryhofer for her achievement and believes that her level of expertise will be a great benefit to the AMA membership.

Georgia Delegation Re-Elects Chairman/Vice Chairman

MAG congratulates Joseph P. Bailey Jr., M.D., who was re-elected to serve as Chairman of the Georgia AMA Delegation and Spurgeon William Clark III, M.D., who was re-elected to serve as Vice Chairman.
