What to Do When Submitting Your Claims
- Submit impacted claims with a cover letter that includes a subject line that reads "Rework Request for E&M Codes"
OR - Call the Aetna Provider Service Center to verbally request rework of the impacted claims:
- (888) 632-3862 for Indemnity and PPO-based benefits plans; or
- (800) 624-0756 for HMO benefits plans
IMPORTANT: Physicians should NOT use the Add-On Code process (i.e., the forms and electronic mailboxes that will be available on www.aetna.com beginning April 17) to get the E&M Codes reworked. The Add-On Code process was established specifically for those codes and will complicate E&M Code rework requests. Please utilize one of the above methods to insure a timely and accurate claim submission.
