ACG Wealth (formerly the Atlanta Capital Group) Managing Partner Kevin Rainwater discussed how physicians and medical practices can save time and money and retain their employees by participating in the Medical Association of Georgia’s (MAG) MEP 401(k) Plan when he appeared on MAG’s ‘Top Docs Radio’ program on the Business Radio-X Network, Tuesday, April 25.

Rainwater stresses that, “MAG member practices can reduce their fiduciary liability, lower their plan expenses, and retain their employees by participating in the MAG-sponsored 401(k) retirement plan that’s available through ACG Wealth. It is also worth noting that the MAG Plan is treated like one large plan from a government Form 5500 reporting standpoint.”

MAG 401(k) Plan benefits include…

– Cost savings on the investments
– No individual Form 5500 reporting
– Minimal plan maintenance
– Flexible plan features, including safe harbor
– Roth and profit sharing
– Customizable design options (i.e., eligibility, matches, vesting schedules)
– No audit at member level

Rainwater explains that, “The MAG Plan offers the advantages and flexibility of a stand-alone plan while avoiding the expenses and administrative headaches associated with sponsoring a stand-alone plan.”

He concludes that, “By participating in the MAG Plan, virtually all of the administrative tasks can be offloaded from the practice to ACG Wealth and MAG.”

MAG sponsors the ‘Top Docs’ program at 12 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Between downloads and live listeners, MAG's ‘Top Docs’ show has reached more than 10,000 listeners – which includes people in all 50 states and 84 countries.

MAG’s ‘Top Docs Radio’ show is supported with a grant from Health Care Research, a subsidiary of Alliant Health Solutions.
