MAG Physician Claims Payment Documented Savings for 2006 (By Specialty and Region)
2005
CIGNA pays $250,000
A physician netting $250,000 because MAG was able to convince CIGNA to pay for inappropriately denied claims.
Humana pays for breast reductions
Surgeons seeing enhanced revenue because MAG was able to convince Humana to pay for bilateral breast reductions. While this benefited all physicians, the complaining physicians received back payments in an amount that would pay their MAG dues for the next 20 years.
BCBS pays for anesthesia units
Anesthesiologists reaping significant benefits because MAG was able to convince BCBS to pay appropriate sums for anesthesia units. Today, 33 percent of anesthesiologists are MAG members.
OB/GYNs recognized by BCBS
OB/GYNs recognizing considerable revenues because we were able to convince BCBS to pay for second surgeons for difficult caesarian sections and to not to bundle cystoscopy with ureteroscopy.
BCBS pays for some EKGs
Cardiologists reaping hundreds of thousands of dollars because MAG was able to convince BCBS to pay for an EKG when done in conjunction with an E&M visits and convince Aetna to stop bundling perfusion with wall flow studies. Today, 44 percent of cardiologists are MAG members.
Oncologist receive $800 more
Oncologists being paid an additional $800 for two commonly administered cancer drugs. Today, 45 percent of oncologists are MAG members.

Radiologists paid for same-day screening
Radiologists reaping hundreds of thousands of dollars because MAG was able to convince BCBS to pay for same-day screening and diagnostic mammograms.Today, 41 percent of Radiologists are MAG members.

UHC unbundles procedures
Otolaryngologist reaping over $1 million a year because we were able to convince UHC to unbundled multiple procedures. Today, 41 percent of otolarynologists are MAG members.
