HOD delegates being asked to register for September 29 Zoom session ASAP

Dear fellow 2020 HOD delegates,

You should register for an online “Zoom” meeting that will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29 to participate in the first session of the Medical Association of Georgia’s (MAG) virtual 2020 House of Delegates (HOD) meeting.

During this session, your speaker and vice speaker will…

– Explain the HOD reports and resolutions process and timeline (see the “2020 HOD schedule” below for details on deadlines)

– Announce the candidates for MAG office for 2020-2021, accept any additional nominations, and conduct the elections

– Accept any policy consent calendar extractions and oversee the policy consent calendar voting process

– Answer any questions that you might have

We must have a quorum (i.e., 40 or more delegates) to conduct the business of the House – so it is essential for you to register for this event if you are a delegate.

Any contested elections would take place during virtual HOD meeting that will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 17.

You must use a device like a laptop or a desktop computer or a tablet that has a microphone (i.e., as opposed to using a mobile phone or participating on an audio-only basis) so you can vote during this event.

All delegates should review the policy consent calendar – which will be posted on the HOD page on MAG’s website – before this meeting.

This Zoom meeting is limited to delegatesYou will need to click here to sign up for a free Zoom account to register for this meeting if you don’t already have a Zoom account. All others – including alternate delegates, CMS and specialty society executives, other MAG members, and approved guests – will be able to watch the proceedings on a special YouTube platform (see the second registration link below).

MAG will not use its app during this year’s HOD – so all of the relevant information will be posted on the HOD page on MAG’s website.

Contact Ryan Larosa at rlarosa@mag.org with any questions about the September 29 meeting – and call Mandi Milligan at 404.906.0579 if you have questions related to Zoom before or during the meeting (Note: MAG staff will begin the Zoom meeting 15 minutes early to answer any technical questions).

We recognize that we face some unique challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we appreciate and value your time – and you have our assurance that we will continue to work with MAG staff to do everything that we can to make the process for this year’s virtual HOD as efficient and productive as possible.

Sincerely,

Edmund R. Donoghue Jr., M.D.
Speaker, Medical Association of Georgia

Jim Barber, M.D.
