CHOA promoting ‘New Horizons in Pediatrics’ conference
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) is encouraging physicians and other health care professionals to attend a ‘New Horizons in Pediatrics’ conference that it will host with the Emory University School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics and Morehouse School of Medicine at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta on April 28-29.
CHOA says that, “The purpose of this conference is to update pediatric primary care and family practitioners about the latest information regarding medical conditions that affect pediatric and adolescent patients, and recommended treatment options.”
CHOA also notes that, “Effective January 1, 2018, the Georgia Composite Medical Board requires that every physician not subject to Rule 360-15-.01 (3) who maintains an active DEA certificate and prescribes controlled substances, except those holding a residency training permit, shall complete at least one time three or more hours of AMA/AOA PRA Category 1 CME that is designed specifically to address controlled substance prescribing practices. This conference fulfills 2.0 hours of this educational requirement for opioid prescribing and management related AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for physicians in attendance.”
