Continuing Board Certification releases ‘Vision for Future’ update
The following is the Continuing Board Certification’s ‘Vision for the Future’ initiative update for January…
The Planning Committee
began the new year continuing to make progress on key elements of Phase One of the Continuing Board Certification: Vision for the Future initiative
On January 8, the Planning Committee concluded the “Open Call for Nominations” to serve on the Vision Initiative Commission
. One hundred seventy-six completed nominations were submitted. Those nominated represented a diverse group of stakeholder communities, including physicians from a wide variety of specialties and practice settings and who represent 42 states. Nominations for individuals from specialty and state medical societies, hospitals and health systems, health care organizations, and the general public were also received. Based on the established nomination criteria
, the Planning Committee is actively reviewing each nominated candidate as part of the process to select the members who will comprise the Commission. Commission members will be notified of their appointment later this month, with a public announcement of the Commission members scheduled for February.
Last month, a new Vision Initiative website
was launched. The website serves as a central reference point for the Vision Initiative and includes updates, information, and reports from the Planning Committee and Commission. It also allows stakeholders to actively engage in the process through a dedicated section for feedback and input
. We encourage you to visit the website and to bookmark the address – visioninitiative.org
– for easy access and engagement throughout the process.
Help Spread the Word
Open communication is a key principle of the Vision Initiative. To meet our goal of creating a continuing certification program that is relevant and valuable to all of our stakeholders, we need the feedback and input from everyone, especially Board Certified physicians and the patients they serve.
Please remember to share this update with your colleagues using the “Forward to a Colleague” button below and encourage them to engage with the Vision Initiative process. In addition, if you have any feedback or comments you would like to share, please submit them via the comments submission form
on the Vision Initiative website.
We thank you for your continued interest and engagement in the Vision Initiative, Board Certification, and the continuing certification process.
