DPH reminding prescribers to register for PDMP by January 1

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is reminding applicable physicians in the state to register for the state’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) by January 1, 2018.
DPH is stressing that, “H.B. 249 [which state lawmakers passed in 2017] requires medical prescribers with active DEA numbers to register for the PDMP. The legislation states that each prescriber who has a DEA registration number shall enroll to become a user of the PDMP as soon as possible, and no later than January 1, 2018.”
