Georgia AG activates website with resources to combat opioid misuse
The Office of Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has activated a ‘Georgia Dose of Reality’ website that houses resources that can be used to “fight the opioid [abuse] crisis.”
Attorney General Carr says that, “We want Georgians to know that if they are battling this crisis in their own homes, they are not alone. We will continue working on this issue until there are no more tears, no more funerals, and no more heartaches as a result of this modern-day plague.”
He adds that, “We hope Georgians will use the site to find out how they can do their part in preventing opioid abuse in Georgia.”
The website includes resources that are designed for health care professionals, students, parents, businesses, educators, coaches, caregivers, and seniors. It also addresses best practices for the “safe acquisition, appropriate use, safe storage, and safe disposal [of prescription drugs]” – and it features an interactive map that shows where Georgians can find a prescription drug disposal box.
