The American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) installed a new president and board members at its annual conference in Minneapolis.
The following AAMSE board officers were elected to serve from 2017 through 2018…
Gene Ransom III, Esq. – Elected to serve as the president of the AAMSE Board of Directors, Mr. Ransom has previously served on the Board of Directors as president-elect and also as secretary/treasurer. Mr. Ransom has been the CEO of MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society, for the past 20 years. He serves his community in various positions, including previously as an elected member of the Queen Anne’s County Commission.
Steve Levine – Elected to serve as the AAMSE president-elect after previously serving as the secretary/treasurer, Mr. Levine brings over 30 years of experience in journalism and public relations to the AAMSE board. He has proven to be a powerful and thoughtful leader in association management, and has also served as a member of the AAMSE board of directors.
Steve Smith, MS, CAE – Elected to serve as AAMSE secretary/treasurer, Mr. Smith is currently the CEO and executive director for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the Association Management Center in Chicago, Ill. He has previously served on the AAMSE Board of Directors.
Jon Rosell, PhD – Dr. Rosell will serve as the past president of AAMSE after previously serving as the president on the board of directors. Currently, he is the executive director of the Kansas Medical Society, where he has been serving since 2017. Dr. Rosell has also previously served as executive director of the Medical Society of Sedgwick County and as the chair of the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.

Bryan Campbell – Mr. Campbell currently serves as the CEO of the Duval Medical Society, and previously served as the director of public, media and industry relations at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Missy Lundberg – Ms. Lundberg is currently the associate director of public relations and public education at the American Academy of Dermatology. Ms. Lundberg comes to the AAMSE Board of Directors with over 25 years of experience in health-related, non-profit organizations.
Donald Palmisano Jr., Esq. – Mr. Palmisano is currently the CEO of the Medical Association of Georgia. Previously, Mr. Palmisano served as the general counsel and director of government relations for the Medical Association of Georgia.
Aileen Wetzel – Ms. Wetzel is the CEO of the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society. Ms. Wetzel previously worked as the associate director for the Center for Economic Services at the California Medical Association.
AAMSE is a professional association for more than 1,400 medical society professionals throughout the country. The membership base of AAMSE is comprised of local, state, and national medical specialty associations. AAMSE has forged a path for medical society professionals to take a leadership role in the field of medical society management and the community of medicine at large through collaboration and sharing of information, tools, and resources.
