Media report: U.S. Sen. “wants answers” on Anthem’s ER policy

According to an article that appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill “wants answers from Anthem Inc. on its restrictive emergency room policy.” The article notes that [Anthem says] “it would no longer pay for emergency room visits for minor ailments such as the common cold. If patients decide to seek care in an ER for non-emergencies…they'd be on the hook for the entire bill.”

Sen. McCaskill “sent the insurance company a letter, dated December 20, detailing her concerns about the policy.”
