New ‘Top Docs’ features Georgia Senate candidate W. Scott Bohlke, M.D.

The latest edition of the Medical Association of Georgia’s (MAG) ‘Top Docs’ show features W. Scott Bohlke, M.D., a family physician from Brooklet who is running for the Georgia Senate’s 4th District.

Dr. Bohlke discusses…

– His personal and professional backgrounds
His experiences with the COVID-19 outbreak
– Why he believes organized medicine is so important
– How we can improve the Georgia’s health care system
– Ways to improve Georgia’s practice environment
– Why he is running for public office, and why people should vote for him
– His priorities beyond health care
– His suggestions for physicians who are thinking about running for office
– How people can get involved and support his campaign

Dr. Bohlke was MAG’s president in 2012-2013, he is the chair of MAG’s Council on Legislation, and he is a long-time member of MagMutual’s Board of Directors. He attended the University of Georgia on a baseball scholarship, he graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, he conducted his residency with the Columbus Regional Healthcare System, and he was as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. It is also worth noting that Dr. Bohlke played baseball in the Atlanta Braves’ minor league system. And in 2002, he became the first physician in his region to use electronic medical records.

“Dr. Bohlke would be an excellent addition to the state senate,” says MAG Government Relations Director Derek Norton. “And it would be great for MAG and the house of medicine to have another physician in the state legislature.”

The election will take place on June 9.

MAG members are encouraged to support Dr. Bohlke with a donation. Checks that are made payable to “Scott Bohlke for Senate” can be mailed to 2620 Clito Road, Statesboro, GA 30461.
