PAI weighs in on ONC’s draft HIT/EHR strategy

The Physicians Advocacy Institute (PAI) has submitted a letter to the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to address ONC’s ‘Draft Strategy on Reducing Regulatory and Administrative Burden Relating to the Use of Health IT and EHRs.’

The letter concludes that, “Overall, PAI supports CMS’ efforts to streamline and reduce unnecessary burdens placed on physicians related to EHRs, interoperability, and health IT. These adjustments must benefit all physicians and providers equally and not be designed or structured simply for large health systems.”
