Physicians Foundation promoting book on poverty/health care

The Physicians Foundation is promoting a book – Poverty and the Myths of Health Care Reform – that it commissioned the late Richard ‘Buz’ Cooper, M.D., to write.

The Physicians Foundation says the book “draws on decades of health research and economic data to demonstrate the pervasive, debilitating effects of poverty on health care costs, resource utilization and overall patient outcomes.”

The Physicians Foundation says that it is promoting the book to “generate a discussion among health care stakeholders about this issue and collaborate with Johns Hopkins University Press to encourage professors to add the book to their health care policy courses.”

The Physicians Foundation has also created a video to highlight the book’s findings.
