Physicians Foundation weighs in on social determinants of health

The Physicians Foundation is encouraging physicians and other stakeholders to read a new, three-page ‘Viewpoints: Social Determinants of Health’ summary that it recently distributed.

The Physicians Foundation believes that “there is an urgent need to account for poverty and other health-related social needs as central to any truly effective health care system.”

Among the key issues that the summary addresses are “payment and delivery reform” and “physician burnout.”
