– What AMA is doing to promote health equity

In addition to his role at AMA, Dr. Madara is an adjunct professor of pathology at Northwestern University. He has helped develop AMA’s long-term strategic plan, which is focused on driving innovation, attacking dysfunction in the health care system, and addressing the nation’s public health needs. Dr. Madara also serves as the chairman of Health2047 Inc. Prior to joining AMA, Dr. Madara was the dean of the medical school and CEO of the hospitals at the University of Chicago – which followed a lengthy stint at Harvard Medical School.
