MAG calls for Congress to take more steps to ensure accessibility of care

The Medical Association of Georgia is one of many physicians’ organizations that signed a letter that was sent to Congressional leaders to thank them for passing the ‘Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act’ and to urge them to “take additional steps to protect patient access to care by preserving the viability of physician practices as part of the nation’s essential health care system.”

The letter addresses the Medicare Accelerated and Advance Payment Program, Medicare and Medicaid payment, direct financial support, small business loans, telehealth, support for resident physicians and medical students, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), and liability.
