MAG leader responds to reports suggesting physicians inflating COVID-19 cases

The following statement is attributable to Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) President Lisa Perry-Gilkes, M.D., F.A.C.S. …

“Reports suggesting that physicians or allied health care professionals are inflating the number of COVID-19 patients for selfish financial purposes are unfounded. The health care workforce in Georgia and the rest of the country should be thanked and applauded for its selfless, heroic, and tireless efforts since the beginning of the pandemic. They have saved countless lives, and they are fulfilling a professional duty and oath. MAG will remain focused on its mission of enhancing patient care and the health of the public – which includes encouraging people to wear face masks, practice social distancing, use approved hand sanitizers, and wash their hands on a regular basis.”
