MAG mourns loss of U.S. Rep. John Lewis

The Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) is mourning the loss – and celebrating the life – of iconic civil rights leader and U.S. Rep. John Lewis, who died yesterday, Friday, July 17.

“Congressman John Lewis is a historical figure who dedicated his life to ending racism and the fight for social justice and equality,” says MAG President Andrew Reisman, M.D. “He lived an exemplary life, and he will be remembered as a selfless, relentless, and effective advocate for creating a better world for every member of society.”

Dr. Reisman emphasizes that, “We could always count on Congressman Lewis to do what was best to protect patients and physicians.”
