MAG opposing VA IFR allowing non-physicians to practice without supervision

The Medical Association of Georgia is one of numerous state and national physicians’ organizations that signed a letter opposing the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) ‘Authority of VA Professionals to Practice Health Care’ Interim Final Rule (IFR), which “permits virtually all VHA-employed non-physician providers (NPPs) to practice without the clinical supervision of physicians and without regard to state scope of practice law.”

The letter says that “the IFR is unlawful rulemaking because the VA did not follow the normal notice and commenting process stipulated by the Administrative Procedures Act.”
