MAG to host ‘Race, Equality & Justice Town Hall’ to listen, solicit ideas

The Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) will host a virtual ‘Race, Equality & Justice Town Hall’ for MAG member physicians at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, June 16.

“The purpose of this event is to have an open and honest discussion surrounding George Floyd’s senseless death,” explains MAG President Andrew Reisman, M.D. “We want to listen to our members and discuss ways for MAG to help eliminate societal inequality, injustice, and racism.”

MAG President-elect Lisa Perry-Gilkes, M.D., will facilitate the conversation.

MAG and the Georgia State Medical Association recently issued a joint statement to “condemn violence and systemic oppression” – stressing that they will “not tolerate inequality, injustice, or racism.”
